Facing Whiteness Final Meeting  I   May 30

Facing Whiteness: the Antiracism Working Group for White Caregivers was founded by Gordon parents who wanted to actively support the anti-bias and multicultural education Gordon offers students by providing opportunities for white parents to examine their own racial identities and privilege, to uncover and challenge their own biases, and to develop antiracism parenting skills. The group supports ongoing learning and peer leadership as a way to build white parent capacity in the fight against racism, at home, school, work and beyond. Join us for our final meeting of the year!

More details on location to come.

POSOC Gatherinng    I   June 1

Save the Date for this community event! Parents of Students of Color (POSOC) seeks to promote an atmosphere of academic achievement, mutual respect, acceptance, and empowerment while building a greater sense of community for our students of color within the full spectrum of the life and activities at the Gordon School. A formal invite will be sent closer to the event.

Commencement    I   June 12

Join us at commencement! Gordon's Commencement celebrates students the same way Gordon educates them: child by child, with equal attention to their hearts and their minds.

Each graduate is honored with a diploma that includes a quote chosen especially for them by the faculty. Their advisors read the quotes for the audience, and their introductory remarks are personal, heartfelt and deeply moving. The event is held on Engle Field and begins at 5:30pm.
