Gordon School

We all scream for ice cream!

Participate in the Gordon Fund in May and all Gordon students win an ice cream party!

Gordon students will receive a frozen treat if 50 families participate in the Gordon Fund during the month of May.

The Gordon Fund is a community fundraiser through which parents, alumni, faculty and friends support important programs at Gordon including library and literacy, visual and performing arts, athletics, STEAM and more.

Make your gift today at www.gordonschool.org/give, mail in your gift, or stop by the Development office.

Together, we can give Gordon students a sweet finish to the school year!

The Gordon Fund fuels important programs at the school including library and literacy, athletics, visual and performing arts, financial aid, and more. It is our community’s generous support of the Gordon Fund that allows us to provide a comprehensive academic experience for students in nursery through eighth grade.

Philanthropy is a vital component of the fiscal health of independent schools and Gordon School is no different. Join our effort this year to ensure Gordon’s talented professionals and students have all the tools they need to explore, innovate and learn.

Opportunities for investment in the 2016-2017 academic year are:

Library and literacy
Gordon aims to produce graduates who have a lifelong love of literature and are capable of expressing their knowledge and opinions eloquently in a variety of styles. The Joukowsky Family Library serves as the hub of the school where reading, literacy, collaboration, digital proficiency and digital citizenship come together. Support the Joukowsky Family Library and literacy

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics)
Gordon pursues an integrated model to help students master content skills in a highly engaging, project-based learning environment that encourages problem solving, working collaboratively, research, planning and executing the engineering design process.  Gordon’s new IDEA Labs (Innovation, Design, Engineering, Adventure) in Early Childhood and Lower School are providing a new dedicated space to enhance this exploration. Support STEAM

Visual and performing arts
Education in the disciplines of music, dance, theater, and visual arts sparks curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. The benefits and impact of arts education is visible in students’ learning across all disciplines and in their increased confidence in and out of the classroom. Support visual and performing arts

Gordon’s inclusive and competitive athletics program begins in the fifth grade promoting good sportsmanship, school pride and healthy competition. On average, 90% of middle school students proudly represent Gordon while competing on twenty teams in seven sports. Support athletics

Financial aid
Gordon actively seeks to build and maintain a school that is economically diverse. We believe it enhances academic achievement, amplifies personal growth, and contributes to all aspects of school life. Support financial aid

Sustaining Gordon
Gordon is committed to the nursery to eighth grade model, as the one that best serves the educational, social and emotional needs of children. A gift to sustain Gordon allows you to make a tax-deductible donation while supporting lower tuition increases, faculty professional development, and the maintenance and upkeep of Gordon’s much loved twelve acre campus.
